Artist Statement

My work centers nude female figures and animals to explore autonomy, self-acceptance, and mutual dignity. By positioning these figures as primary, unposed subjects rather than spectacles or accessories, my practice challenges patriarchal norms within art and reclaims narrative autonomy. This commitment to agency and critical reflection directly drives my philosophy as an art educator. Just as my paintings push past historical stereotypes and roles, I urge students to question visual media, critically assess themes, and develop personal artistic voices. I aim to show students how technical mastery and conceptual exploration can provoke curiosity and empower the drive to make change.
